WE DID IT!

Somehow, we were able to pull off a bullet in the final race of the season to ensure a victory i the GPSC Tuesday night summer series.
With that win, we are now 6 for 6 in the Tuesday night Cruising Division!
We have been able to pull of first place in the cruising division for the last 3 years that we have been racing it.
The competiton has been tight, in every series.  we were just a bit luckier...

Thanks to all the crew and friends that came along to help us take first place this year.

Now, on to the Goat Yard series, I mean water ballon war....

With only 2 races left, we are sitting in first place by 1 or 2 points. 

If we somehow pull this off, we will have won the Tuesday night series for the last 3 years.

That is 6 series.

Well, somehow we were able to pull of another first for the Tuesday night series.

We narrowly beat out the rest of our class to take home our 5th series first in a row.

VICTORY!
Going into the last race we were 1 point behind Freeway, and 1 point in front of Spectre.
We had to win the race to win the series.  A special visit by Bora Gulari helped us do just that.  With a great start, we were able to keep Freeway behind us for 98% of the race.  Half way down the second leg we passed Spectre, and kept them all back there.

It was a tough series, and we got pretty lucky a couple of times.  With that win, we have won the Tuesday Night Sundown Series 5 times in a row.

The shorthanded crew cheered as Wind Toy steals the gun on the June 19th GPSC sundown series race. With just 6 people and strong gusts, the Tuesday night win was nothing but easy.

It was a bald headed (flawless) spinnaker start followed by a heavy puff sending Wind Toy and the leading 3 boats into an immediate round up. The first mark was a challenge as Wind Toy tried to Gybe and the spinnaker wrapped itself into an hour glass. Luckily the competitors were also having some troubles of their own. Wind Toy held it's own as it sailed most of the second leg bald headed while trying to fix the kite. Once the #3 was up, Wind Toy barreled past everyone with Robbie at the helm. Lulu and Pony worked hard on the main and traveler while Hoops and Tony were on the Jib. Ann, our first time guest and newcomer to sailing, was really excited and thankful for sailing the race especially since the end of the race we won her her first Gun!

The 2007 sailing season is in full swing and the Port Huron to Mackinac is right around the corner. With a new IRC rating, a new race course and no new sails, this year's Mackinac will prove to be a challenge, but the crew is ready for it!

The Mast step project has been a long painful process,  but we are happy to report that is all but done.
Joe Brennan help build us a new mast step bracket at his shop a month or so ago,  and all the ribs and floor boards have been replaced by Larry and Bob.  The head liner is back in and all we need to do is put in the mast and the Teak & Holly finishing floor board.
