This year turned out to be a big one!  Finishing first in Class (Cruising B) and First overall In Division V - Thunder Bay Cruising PHRF.  It was a hard faught battle with Freedom & Saralysia all the way up the race course.  One tack out into the lake early Monday morning and a change back to a #1 headsail leveraged us on the rest of our competitors.  The rest of the day Monday was a beautiful upwind sail to the island.  Shortly after we crossed the finish line @3:40pm Monday afternoon, the breeze shut off giving us the win.  We won our class by nearly 2.5 hours, and the division by nearly an hour.  We also had the best corrected time on the Thunderbay Course, but there is no award for that...

After a long cold winter, we came out of the gates running!  A great start, and fantastic crew work gave the first bullet of the year!!  Now, lets go get 5 more to reclaim our first Place status in the Tuesday night series.

Tuesday July 22 was an interesting evening on the water.
out over the lake several miles norht east of our race couse a large cloud formed and spit out a lttle funnel cloud.  It was far enough away, that we could see if it actually touched down at any point, but you could certainly see what was happening. The clouds were big, rotating, and a small funnel shot out the bottom of it.  The water underneath the cloud was obviously stirred up.

Here is our 2008 Port Huron to Mackinac Class.  Not much different from last year.  A couple new additions, and no more Tarten Ten's.  Lets hope some of the luck we have been having in the last 4 years...

WE DID IT!

Somehow, we were able to pull off a bullet in the final race of the season to ensure a victory i the GPSC Tuesday night summer series.
With that win, we are now 6 for 6 in the Tuesday night Cruising Division!
We have been able to pull of first place in the cruising division for the last 3 years that we have been racing it.
The competiton has been tight, in every series.  we were just a bit luckier...

Thanks to all the crew and friends that came along to help us take first place this year.

Now, on to the Goat Yard series, I mean water ballon war....

With only 2 races left, we are sitting in first place by 1 or 2 points. 

If we somehow pull this off, we will have won the Tuesday night series for the last 3 years.

That is 6 series.

Well, somehow we were able to pull of another first for the Tuesday night series.

We narrowly beat out the rest of our class to take home our 5th series first in a row.

VICTORY!
Going into the last race we were 1 point behind Freeway, and 1 point in front of Spectre.
We had to win the race to win the series.  A special visit by Bora Gulari helped us do just that.  With a great start, we were able to keep Freeway behind us for 98% of the race.  Half way down the second leg we passed Spectre, and kept them all back there.

It was a tough series, and we got pretty lucky a couple of times.  With that win, we have won the Tuesday Night Sundown Series 5 times in a row.
